  1. Ok. Let me start by saying i am not trying to be rude or disrespectful in what i am about to say, but someone needs to say something.
Because YOU didn't take the time to go and look at the names in
Pirate101 and see if your children's names were in there and make a list of names they could use,
children that picked the name of your child become disqualified
in your contest for the grand prize? really? how is that fair?
No one even knows the name of your child so why would it matter?
A lot of these kids join contest to win crowns because
their parents can't afford to get them for them and you just dash
a child's hopes by saying sorry you can't have them because you picked my child's real name?
could you just have not picked it because it was your child's name
instead of going on your show and smearing it in their faces? i mean really?

And if your thinking well how will they know if it was them or not? they wont. The point is you made a contest to name your child then came back and said someone picked his real name
so they won't be winning the grand prize which is totally unfair to the one/ones that did.
All because you dropped the ball and didn't check first.

I am a Dad with children that play both wizard101 and Pirate101
and we listen to your show together. and i can tell you it is
making me think twice about letting them listen or do any of your contest anymore.
If you are going to do contest i think you need to do the research
before you put it up so it is fair for all, instead of making up the rules as you go along.

Sorry if you think this is rude, wasn't trying to be. just stating the facts. it is an unfair contest.

  2. When I initially came up with the idea for the contest, I thought it would be a fun way to talk about my kids without having to use their real names. My wife (and I respect her concern), has asked that we don't have our kid's names anywhere online and even limit pictures of them that we post. You could look at our facebook pages and you wouldn't find their names mentioned anywhere.

While I thought that chances were slim that someone would come up with either of their real names, it wasn't outside the realm of possibility. That being said, you could still win the grand prize with you choice of girl name, as my daughter's real name is not on the potential list. Only my son's name is selectable, so that seems like a good compromise.

Sorry for any confusion this may have called. I suppose I could have thought it out a bit further, but it's tough when you're working on 3 hours sleep a night!

  3. I understand completely about the 3 hours sleep. Oh how I remember that well lol. And it is great to hear those that picked your son's name still have a chance. Like I said I wasn't trying to be rude or disrespectful to you, You have a great show and do an awesome job we really enjoy listening to it together. I just felt when I heard they couldn't win it was a little unfair. I hope there are no hard feelings, as I understand completely you and your wife not wanting
their names or photos available for all to see. Keep up the good work!
